Great question! You’re on the right track. We always recommend wearing bow ties with tuxedos whenever you can. It’s not that long ties aren’t accepted. It’s just that they aren’t your best formal look. So, good job not only electing to wear a bow tie with your formal ensemble, but also in going the extra mile and learning to tie one yourself.
