Tuxedo Review: Jean Yves Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo – New for Spring 2012

Jean Yves Heather Grey 'Twilight' Tuxedo: New for Spring 2012!
By Jove, they’ve done it again!

Formal wear manufacturer Formalwear International (FWI) and Jean Yves have once again teamed up to raise the bar, taking an incredible look and making it even cooler.  A while back we reviewed the Jean Yves Steel Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo due to its popularity and general awesomeness.  But, as I’m sure you’ve gleamed from the image above, this post isn’t about the Steel Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo.  It’s about the Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo!

The Specs: What Makes ‘Heather’ Manly

Available for rental in the Spring of 2012 from any of our Paul Morrell Partners across the country comes the next model of the ‘Twilight’ tuxedo series.  Made from the same winning design as its Steel Grey brother, the Jean Yves Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo is expertly designed to make you look incredible.  This newest addition has the trademark updated silhouette of the ‘Twilight’ line for a more fitted look that doesn’t sacrifice your comfort or range of motion.  Other features include a 2 button front, satin notch lapel with self trim, satin facings on the buttons and pockets, side vents, and a lighter shade of grey than its Steel Grey predecessor.

One difference that may not be as apparent in the pictures however is the fabric from which the coat is fashioned.  Unlike the Steel Grey that was fashioned from a poly-wool blended material, the Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo is fashioned from 100% Super 100’s Wool, for a luxuriously soft and comfortable look and feel.

Color: Not Black or White, but Grey All Over

If you follow Paul Morrell’s month to month Top 10 Rental Styles (and you should), you’ll see that for the last couple of years, grey formal wear continues to capture a significant portion of the limelight. And why not? It perfectly combines fashion and elegance for a look that is suave, formal, and just a little bit outside the box.  The Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo proudly joins the ranks of our large and growing selection of Grey Tuxedos and Suits.  Because of it’s lighter hue, the Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ compliments (or competes with) the Calvin Klein Grey ‘Legend’ Tuxedo and the Jean Yves Grey ‘Savoy’ Tuxedo.

Versatility: Oh the Places You’ll Go…

Unlike traditional black tuxedos that are typically designed for evening use and contrast the wearers skin tone, grey tuxedos and suits will always help bring out your best features regardless of the time of day or night.   And aside from Black Tie (and very rare White Tie) occasions with detailed dress codes, this grey tuxedo is perfect for nearly any formal occasion. It is elegant enough for a church wedding, comfortable enough for any destination wedding, stylish enough for any prom, and sleek and dashing enough to wear for signing autographs… you know, for being awesome.

And That’s Not All: A Very Suitable Look

I know what you must be thinking.  You’re wondering if this fantastic new tuxedo style comes in a suit too, like the Steel Grey does.  And the answer to that question is a resounding yes!  While pictures of the suit have yet to be released, we will be offering both the Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ Tuxedo AND the Suit, just in case you’re going somewhere that doesn’t really call for a tuxedo.

The Heather Grey ‘Twilight’ Suit will feature all the same things that you’ll come to know and love about the Tuxedo, except all instances of satin will be replaced with the same Super 100’s Wool from which the garment is fashioned.  Also, the suit will incorporate plastic suit buttons rather than the satin covered buttons that appear on the tuxedo.
